Every BODY is different. I work with each client to focus on their individual needs so as to create the session that is right for them on their appointment day. The modalities below are typically blended for each client, depending on their wants and needs for that session, to achieve optimum relief and restoration. I take a great interest in each of my clients’ everyday movements and body positioning to appropriately assess what may be causing their discomfort or pain and to alleviate it.
As the best-known type of bodywork performed today, one of the primary goals of the Swedish massage technique is to relax the entire body. This is accomplished by rubbing the muscles with long gliding strokes in the direction of blood returning to the heart. But Swedish massage therapy goes beyond relaxation. It also increases the level of oxygen in the blood, improving circulation and flexibility while relieving tension.
Trigger point massage therapy is specifically designed to alleviate the source of the pain through cycles of isolated pressure and release. In this type of massage for trigger point therapy, the recipient actively participates through deep breathing as well as identifying the exact location and intensity of the discomfort.
The essence of stretching is that it lengthens soft tissues. Taut soft tissues can limit motion, whether they are tight muscles or any soft tissue that has accumulated fascial adhesions. Stretching can help to reverse this process. Even better, stretching on a regular basis can prevent soft tissues from becoming taut in the first place. Stretching can be incorporated into your massage as needed.
Sports massage therapy is geared toward athletes of every kind. The particulars of the sports massage technique are specific to the athlete's sport of choice. Focusing on areas of the body that are overused and stressed from repetitive and often aggressive movements. Sports massage therapy can be used as a means to enhance pre-event preparation, for maximum performance during training and the event, and to reduce recovery time after the event.
Deep tissue massage therapy is similar to Swedish massage, but the deeper pressure is beneficial in releasing chronic muscle tension. The focus is on the deepest layers of muscle tissue, tendons and fascia (the protective layer surrounding muscles, bones and joints).
To know the person you care deeply for is receiving the same stress-reducing and muscle-relaxing experience as you can bring even more relaxation to your session. This is a unique gift you can share with your significant other ANY time of the year.
